Egis Says Extraordinary Profit Boosted Q1 Income

Hungarian drug maker Egis, majority owned by France's Servier, said extraordinary items boosted profits and revenues in Q1 of its business year that started October 1.


Egis estimated its pre-tax profits reached HUF 5.8 billion and revenues of HUF 28.5 billion in the quarter ending December 31, 2008. Pre-deliveries made for business reasons added HUF 2 billion to profits and HUF 3 billion to revenues during the period.

Egis will publish its preliminary Q1 report on February 9.
