International automotive group, Bosal, operating in Kecskemét (central Hungary) since 2004, has decided to expand its plant further. The project, to be subsidised by the government, will be completed by September 2009 and the manufacturing of new products will start in H1 2010. The company is manufacturing lifting jacks, windstops, and towbar systems with a 200-member staff, which is to be increased by 50 employees due to the expansion.

Established in 1923 in Alkmaar, the Bosal Group is registered in the Netherlands, and its headquarter is located in Lummen, Belgium. The group employs over 6,000 people in 22 countries and 42 manufacturing plans, with an annual turnover of nearly EUR 800 million. Bosal and Bosal-Oris is a supplier to nearly every major carmaker in the world, including Daimler, Volkswagen Group and General Motors.

Hungary plays a central role in CEE car manufacturing, said István Varga, Minister for National Development and the Economy. He named the highly-skilled labour force, the country's good geographical position and a wide network of automotive suppliers as the key assets Hungary can rely on and exploit to become and even more important player in the vehicle manufacturing of Europe.
