Ice-Skating Rink in City Park to Be Renewed by the End of 2010

The foundation stone of the project ”Gateway to City Park” was laid on 24 June.

The reception building of the ice-skating rink will be renewed and the building wing bombed out during World War II will be rebuilt within the framework of this investment.
The European Regional Development Fund has granted over HUF 3 billion for the development costing to a total of HUF 4.7 billion.
The renewed ice-skating rink is expected to attract several top class ice sports events to Budapest. A 108X67 meter ice-skating rink and a 60x30 meter hockey field will be open to anyone keen on ice-skating, while entertainment opportunities will be provided in summer on the nearly 17,000 square meter water surface of the artificial pond.
