Central Hungary Oncology Center of the National Institute of Oncology to Be Renewed

The development of the National Institute of Oncology will be implemented with the help of EU funding amounting to HUF 5.4 billion, the National Development Agency said on December 3.

Funding amounting to HUF 5.4 billion has been approved for implementing this investment, which is complemented by 10 pct own funds. This project will be launched in December this year and construction and modernization works will be completed by the end of 2011.
The institute will consequently be able to provide inpatient and outpatient services for cancer patients at a European standard.
Hungary is among the leading countries of the region as regards the number and ratio of deaths caused by cancer. The institution to be renewed will substantially contribute to improving the chances of recovery of cancer patients at both a national level and within the region.
