In the First Half of 2010, 9,000 Dwellings Received Occupancy Permits

In the first half of 2010, 9,000 dwellings received occupancy permits and 10,000 new building permits were issued.

The number of dwellings put to use decreased by 34 pct, while that of new permits fell by 41 pct compared with the first half of 2009.
The number of completed dwelling constructions nearly halved in two regions and fell to two-thirds in three others. The intention to build continued to weaken: new permits fell to one-third–half in five regions. The number of permit requests was the same as in the corresponding period last year only in Budapest.
