Trade Balance Showed a Surplus of EUR 567 Million

In June 2010, according to first estimates, exports amounted to EUR 6,284 million, while the value of imports reached EUR 5,717 million.

The euro value of exports and imports increased by 23 and 20 pct, respectively, compared to the corresponding month of the previous year.
In June, the trade balance showed a surplus of EUR 567 million, so the balance improved by EUR 240 million compared to the same month of 2009.
The share of the European Union Member States was 76 pct in exports and 69 pct in imports.
Over the course of January–June 2010, the value of exports was EUR 33,819 million, while that of imports totaled up to EUR 31,007 million according to preliminary results. In euro terms, exports increased by 20 pct and imports grew by 17 pct. The trade balance showed a surplus of EUR 2,812 million, which meant an improvement of EUR 1,083 million compared to the surplus of EUR 1,729 million in the corresponding period of the previous year.
