The American Chamber of Commerce has disagreed and recalculated with the statistical results of the Central Statistical Office (KSH), which estimated the contribution of the Hungarian electronics industry to be 5.34 pct. Mr Laszlo Abraham, heading the Committee of the Electronic Manufacturers of AmCham believes that the sector greatly affects others like life sciences and the vehicle industry, therefore its aggregated contribution reaches at least15 pct. Mr Abraham also claimed that Europe will be able to take over Asia’s leading global role, and offer great opportunities to Hungary.
Currently almost 100,000 employees are holding positions in 170 companies that comprise 24 pct of the industrial output and 33 pct of the export of the country.
